It's grippy and quality
I'll start off with the dislikes because these things should be addressed.Dislikes: The main blade is lighter and smaller than I'd like. As someone with bigger hands and coming over from an EDC of an older Recon 1, the knife feels small in the hand making it feel awkward at times. Also the thumb opener on mine was loose, Benchmade told me to use some Blue Loctite which solved the issue. Overall, I preferred the opening method on my older EDC and the heavier blade made it easier to work with. The extra weight at the handle was probably needed to balance it out but it felt more comfortable in the hand.Likes: The blade is made of good steel and quite sharp—how it holds up to abuse is still to be tested, we're still honeymooning. The hook lets me strip someone "trauma naked" faster than using my sheers which is a big like. The G10 grip is a more aggressive grip than any knife I've owned prior—I'll get a random abrasion or superficial lac from the grip alone—which I don't mind because I could be using it double-gloved up or with slippery hands, it's made to work.Overall: I'd recommend this knife to anyone working EMS (and I have). If you have smaller hands (XS-M gloves), I'd imagine you'd find it even more comfortable in the hands as is. The hook is why I bought it and that works like a dream. I would still like to see the blade a little heavier and an increase on the handle of 1/2in or so. More so, I'd like to see the handle include an O2 wrench (metal and user-replaceable) but, given it's limitations, I can see why it'd be hard to include one—perhaps near the right side with the clip forward of the hook hinge but it's hard on a small handle (considering that it's not an exposed blade spine, I would not want to have to open the blade to turn on O2, handle only). So, a few small desires, but overall really happy. 4.7 out of 5EDIT: So, after 2.5+ years of carrying this daily on and off-shift:-The annoying grippy wears off by end of year (think it took 6-9 months) with regular carry, it's still plenty grippy though going forward. Aside from being annoying early on I'd say that's a positive.-Picture 3 is of v2 because my first needed to go get sharpened (when I can find it and get around to sending it) but I've actually carried the second (my wife's) for the majority of the time—about 1.5-2 years. I was a little abusive with the first one so it's missing a bit of finish but still works like a dream.I don't like to leave early reviews but I'd recommend this knife as an EDC, if used for purpose, she's a beauty.
