I wanted to like this camera but it just failed on too many fronts as described below.
The Good
Daytime pictures and video were a little grainy but not bad. Both were still clear enough to discern the subject and the background in the pictures/video taken.
Nighttime pictures and video were much more grainy (which is to be expected) but still clear enough to make out the subject and the background.
The camera seems to have withstood the rain and cooler weather we have been having lately with no problems. Meaning: it functioned the same way before and after.
The Bad
However, audio on the video files is hit or miss. Sometimes it records the audio (like during a rainstorm, it recorded the sound of rain hitting the camera) and sometimes it doesn’t (like when it recorded me working in my garden but there was no audio at all.) Other times, I might get audio but it is delayed or not in synch with the actions on the video (like when I used the weed eater but did not hear any sound until the second half of the 30 second video clip.)
Also, I cannot trust the temperature reflected on date/time stamps since I went out to change the memory card on a chilly 49 degree day but the pictures it took of me say it was 75 degrees outside. Accurate temperature monitoring is not an important camera feature for me but I also could not figure out how to disable this feature.
The Ugly
So, if you just want a camera to take motion activated pictures, this may work very well for you. If you are wanting anything more, pick a different camera. I did like the GardePro E5S Game Trail Camera (see separate review).
