    If you are looking for a small pocket knife for every day carry, for light duty (cutting open boxes, opening a package, cutting a piece of string, opening envelopes, etc) this is a great choice. You are not buying this knife for heavy duty use, you are not going to baton a piece of wood with this, etc.

    The 420HC blade is not considered a higher end steel for knives, but its a good stainless blade, easy to sharpen and pretty durable. This type of steel is made with higher amounts of carbon and chrome so that it is more corrosion resistant. For light duty EDC work its fine and the lower cost of this steel makes this knife affordable.

    I like the workmanship on this knife, it has a high-end appearance. On the one I have, the blade is centered almost perfectly when closed, and when locked open it is absolutely tight, no wiggling up or down or side to side. I prefer the matte-finish stainless on the handle to something shinier. I also like the fact that this knife is all stainless, so its going to last no matter where you carry it. The frame lock that holds this knife open is pretty good, I prefer a frame lock because IMO its more secure. The jimping on the top of the blade is functional and helps you steady the knife. The safety mechanism that prevents accidentally activating the assisted open of this blade works well, but the internal piece that blocks the blade closed is made of plastic - I wish it were made of something more sturdy. I worry that like some other reviewers here who had a problem with it, over time it might break. The pocket clip on this knife works well and can be removed if you want a flatter profile. There is a small hole for a lanyard or for a ring to attach this to a keychain.

    The assisted opening of this knife works great. It takes a few tries to get used to it, but once you have played with it for a little while, you will find yourself enjoying the action of flicking it open. Very smooth mechanizm and it deploys with a satisfying snap. I don't find the blade studs very useful (there are studs on both sides of the blade), other than to give someone who is not familiar with the assisted opening feature of the knife, and easy way to otherwise open it. Trying to flick the blade out one-handed by using the blade studs feels awkward and the blade does not snap open as well as it does when using the lever.

    I do like the fact that this knife is made in the USA. And for the price, its very well made and functional. Some say its "too small", but I don't find that to be the case. Its a small, inconspicuous pocket knife, with a blade that is not going to scare anyone in the office. Perfect for those brief odds-and-ends that you need a blade for.

    This knife is ROCKIN! I had a chive for years until I took it off my key chain to go into pay a speeding ticket (they don't allow knives or weapons in the building) and when I came out someone had taken it from where I left it. Someone must have seen me hide it. Insert curse word here. I was ticked. I LOVED that knife So I looked around town to replace it but no one carried them locally anymore. I had purchased mine at Walmart and even they didn't carry them in store anymore. I then went to Sportsman's Warehouse and replaced it with a crappy SOG knife which got all scratched up in about 5 days just from being on my key chain and was shoddilly made. IF you read the reviews about that SOG everyone complains about the same thing. Bottom line is it was just cheap....and not nearly the quality knife this little chive is. So I took that one back and looked once again at all the other options for a little knife like this. I checked out the Benchmades...Spyderco knives etc etc...as well to see about getting one of them as a replacement but the bottom line is this thing is SIMPLY THE BEST KNIFE YOU'LL FIND AT THIS SIZE! Think of it as an award winning knife...just made small to fit on your key chain. That's the problem with smaller knives like this. Many times they are made small and cheap. But Kershaw understands that just because something is small doesn't mean it has to be cheap. It'll hold up with some of the best knives out there. It has a frame lock...a little safety that slides in front of the blade to keep it opening in you pocket etc. IT has speed assist to make the knife rocket out fast as can be. VERY cool! I use mine for opening boxes, cleaning my fingernails, and ANYTHING else you can think of and it holds up with a sharp edge. Its legit. If you're looking for a great little EDC knife for everyday use. (that's "Everyday carry" for us knife nerds) GET IT ALREADY! IT's a bit more expensive now then it was when I purchased my first one years ago...but the quality is absolutely still there and it's totally worth even the higher inflated price of todays money. Would buy again...in fact I DID! I bought one for my buddy and he loves his too! Buy it already.... You won't regret it. =0)

    I have like 6 or 8 Kershaw knifes. Different sizes or blades, all have been great.
    The plastic safety is a joke and most don't want it anyway. Take it off or wait for it to break.
