- Reviewed in the United States on September 4, 2013Bought this bag to carry supplies and hand tools for installing computer network cables. The main pouch is large enough to carry my punch tool, small hand tools, knife, flashlight, etc. Side pouch is nice to stash an LED head lamp. Front pockets are great for a notepad, pen, markers, another flashlight and small screwdrivers. The water bottle side holder is big enough for a 20 ounce Gatorade drink bottle (2 7/8 inch diameter). I wash and reuse Gatorade bottles. It is a big advantage to have something to drink anytime I have a minute. It has a nice grab strap to hand carry when desired.
This variation does not have a cinch top on the main compartment. For my use, the cinch top would be in the way.
A cross body carry bag is more comfortable and less conspicuous than a tool bag hanging from my belt. No plumbers butt here.
I think it is a little funny that the other guys with belt clip tool pouches are always asking to borrow my tools. That's because the first thing they do is put their tool pouches on the supply cart or on the ground near where they are working. As the helper, I always have my tools at my side in my comfortable Maxpedition Fatboy G.T.G. Versipack slung over my shoulder.
A tool pouch has lots of little loops and pockets to hold tools. Always seems like there are not enough of the right size for tools the guys are carrying. The Maxpedition has a number of pockets good for infrequently used or easy to lose items. The main pouch holds all my primary tools. I did line the bottom with cardboard to avoid sharp pointy tools from wearing through. There is no evidence this was happening, but I'm erroring on the side of caution.
I do have to remember to swing the bag around to my back before bending over to avoid it hanging around my neck in front. Otherwise, this format bag is working out well for network cable and telcom installation work.
Another advantage is this is not a single task item. I can dump the tools and use to carry personal stuff on flights or at conventions. I put all the little stuff TSA wants to radiate in this bag to make it easy to get through inspection. Sometimes a man purse is handy.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2012in all this is a pretty nice bag. it has plenty of room for the various things you may carry day to day (keys, mags, a couple sweat rags, camera, flashlight, pens, etc.) so i dont have much bad to say about it. the only criticism i have is that it could stand to have another inch added to the ccw pocket and about 1/8 to 1/4 inch of fabric to the bottle holder. my sidearm of choice is a full size 1911 and it just barely fits into the pocket. if it were not for the open area above the zipper to accomodate the beaver tail safety it would not have fit. if you carry a commander size or compact 1911 you will most likely be fine. if you carry something like a sig 229 or glock this probably will not be an issue you will need to worry about. i can see a sig 226 or glock 17 having similar issues so keep that in mind if thats your poison. my weapon of choice for hydration is a 32 oz. nalgene bottle which does not fit, contrary to the product description. i am willing to accept that my bag may just be flawed so i cant say your bag will not accept it, but this has been my experience. i can get it in with a lot of twisting and pushing, but you shouldnt work up a thirst drawing and holstering your water bottle in my opinion. i have a thinner 20 oz bottle that works fine. all things considered its not bad and is made from quality materials (not to mention less expensive than the next size up) so i still consider it a good buy even with some minor faults.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 24, 2015I use the Fatboy GTG in dual roles: as a daypack when out with the family and as a trail bag when out hiking in the woods. It excels in both roles, as it has plenty room in the main compartment to carry a couple protein bars, a first aid kit, wipes for the kids, and a flashlight. I use the zippered organizer pouch to store items such as lip balm, a pen and writing pad, and a multi-tool. My favorite pocket, though, has to be the one that holds my 25 oz Camelbak water bottle. The pocket sees a lot of use, as I like to hydrate every few minutes when I'm trail hiking. No problem though, as the pocket keeps the bottle safe and secure. Another great feature is the shoulder strap pad. It is designed to stay in place on your shoulder while allowing the strap to slide through it, allowing you to move the bag to any carry position you desire (rear hip, side carry, or front hip). The GTG is made of a durable nylon fabric and the seams and stitching are high quality. Overall, the bag works great for my needs; I highly recommend it.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 2, 2016Smaller then anticipated very stiff and not very functional and thinner description claims 1000 when only 800 I would not purchase this product again I would recommend going somewhere you can hold it before you buy it
- Reviewed in the United States on June 18, 2014Let me start by saying that the bag itself was nice enough, but that said it turned out to be a bit smaller than I expected,so I guess I really should've been a bit more careful when I was looking at the dimensions and such, and FYI to all the best thing to do in that respect is to go to Maxpedition's website and go over the info there as it's a bit clearer.
Anyhow, long story short, got mine, almost instantly figured out that my Nexus7 tablet (in a Speck FitFolio) was'nt gonna fit properly in the main pocket, and on top of that I completely missed the fact that the shoulder strap was narrower than the other Versipacks, thus the Janus pocket I ordered with it was'nt going to fit,so after facing those two dilemmas,I opted to returned this GTG pack and got the Jumbo Versipak instead, and bingo that was the PERFECT bag for me.
Most all of this is on me,usually I'm waaayyy more careful than I was this time,so please take my rating here with a big ol' grain of salt,as the bag itself may just be the perfect bag for someone else's needs.

4.0 out of 5 stars Ottimo mah....
Ottimo Borsello! Se traducessi il termine italico in inglese i cari yankee mi criticherebbero aspramente! Scherzi a parte... A volte pretendo troppo. Bellissimo il colore e notevole la possibilità di legare il tutto alla cintura. Do 4 stelle perché fatto in Cina e venduto ad un prezzo UE!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent build quality
First class day bag which I bought for commuting. Black one doesn't look out of place when wearing a suit. Other colours probably suitable for recreational use or going to war. Excellent build quality. Kindle/iPad mini fits. Full size iPad won't. I didn't want one that big. Gets thrown about all the time. Better quality thsn Maxpedition in my opinion. Not cheap but will last for years, pay your money and take your choice....
